This is fanart of a Heavy Panzer Walker from the table top-game, Dust Tactics.
The mech is an Axis forces design, but I chose to paint it in Allied colors, with a few other mechanical alterations. This mesh is not modeled for articulation in the joints, as I set out to create something that could be 3D printed without much hassle. The final low poly mesh comes in at 85k tris, with 4 materials.
This project was an assignment in my graduate school while attending the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy. We were given 3 weeks to produce a "cannon" asset for a real time engine. The assignment was intended to teach the full production pipeline of 3D assets, focusing on Substance Painter for texturing. I've made plenty of 3D assets for real time engines before this point, but I'd never used Substance Painter until this project!
